Obverse
Obverse — head of Poseidon left in a tainia. Cropped and centred out of the holder photograph at the house's slab fill; the prong tips at the rim are the holder's, not the coin's.

Reverse
Reverse — ornamented trident head between two dolphins diving, ΙΕΡΩΝΟΣ beside the shaft. Cropped and centred out of the holder photograph; prong tips are the holder's.

Attribution: Sicily. Syracuse. Hieron II, king of Syracuse. c. 275–215 BC, the reign (the house and NGC: 'c. 275–215 BC'; the bronze is usually placed c. 263–218 BC, after the Roman alliance). AE. litra (bronze; denomination debated).

Obverse: Head of Poseidon left, wearing a tainia (diadem), the hair and beard in loose curls

Reverse: Ornamented trident head, the shaft between two dolphins swimming downward; control letters in the field on some dies

Weight: NO WEIGHT EXISTS FOR THIS COIN FROM ANY SOURCE, and now none ever will: the NGC label carries none, the lot description gave none, and the coin is sealed and staying sealed. Published weights for the type run about 5.5–7 g.  Reference: HGC 2, 1550
