Reverse — owl standing facing on shield, wings spread; magistrate letters Α-Ρ / Ι-Σ in the fields, ΠΕΙΡΑ fully legible in the exergue

Attribution: Asia Minor (Pontos). Amisos. The city of Amisos (under the name Peiraieos). c. 435–370 BC. AR. siglos.

Obverse: Head of Hera left, wearing ornamented stephane; dotted border

Reverse: Owl standing facing on shield, wings spread; magistrate letters in lower fields; letter traces below the base line on some dies

Weight: Not yet weighed; no weight on the tag (the type runs c. 5.5–5.8 g on the Persic 'heavy siglos' standard).  Reference: SNG BM Black Sea 1053
